I made three changes on how I write my blog posts.
- Write as I speak. Though it seems itās too simple, but often overlooked. I used to write in a very formal and professional matter. Now, I write the way I speak. Don’t overthink this.
- I changed the format of my posts from long form over 1,000+ words in one post, to many simple and short form posts of 200-650 words in one post. I feel I can share a variety of different topics in a short period of time, rather than focusing on a handful of topics in the same time period.
- I posted almost every single day, no matter what. Yes, I missed two days in that timeframe where I didnāt post. Iām still working on that š
Like Seth Godin says, āWrite every day even if no one is reading your posts.ā I took this advice to heart and decided to do an experiment.
I love how when you share more, you receive more.
Donāt forget I work full time, and come home to work on this blog to continue to share as much as Iāve learned. Sometimes I would post close to midnight, but that didnāt stop me. I was determined to keep moving, keep sharing the love I have for this world and offering every knowledge I have.
Once you get in the moment, you canāt stop yourself. Once you do the same thing over and over, it becomes so much easier than the first few times youāve done it. Then it becomes a habit and youāre golden.
My goal is to write every day. I know sometimes life can get in the way, but you can write as much as I did if you wanted to. You can write even more when you make a decision to write.
I donāt plan out my blog topics. I do know that when you start and get in the moment, thoughts start rushing through your head and a flow of ideas open up to you.
Itās not that hard. You can do it and do much more than Iāve accomplished in the last 17 days.
Cool fact. The most viewed post in the last 17 days is:
