Key factors in minimizing your room with simple, easy and efficient ways:
Keep your nightstands really simple.
For a period of time we didn’t have any nightstands and it felt great. But because my husband and I wake up to our alarms on the phone, we had to get some kind of furniture piece for our phones to be placed on. Otherwsie, I kept on putting dropping my phone on the floor which was not safe!
Your nightstands are not bookshelves.
Opt out for a headboard.
We decided that there’s no use for a headboard. It collects dust and it’s just another item on the list to clean.
Because we sleep in our room 6-8 hours a night you want to have your room flow with air to have a good night rest. If we start putting laundry hampers, boxes, piling clothes on top of dressers, random furniture, we will start collecting dust in all sorts of places.
Air flow is going to deminish and we start to inhale more dust.
Keep your floors clear
This way it’s easier to clean when you need to vacuum, sweep or mop the floors!
Make an effort not to put anything on the floor that doesn’t belong there.
Only have items on your dresser that you use every single day.
It’s sooo easy to pile up our dressers with a bunch of junk, clothes, makeup and other belongings. The key point here is to only have the items that you use every day like:
- keys
- wallet
- deodorant
- perfume
Having an airy and flowy room brings a clean ambience into your room. This way you are extremely productive and creative when you spend time in your room.
