After reading the book Spark Joy by Marie Kondo I revamped my folding methods and discovered a new way to maximize my closet space without any extra storage compartments.
Here’s a guick guide on how to fold sweaters.
Your hands give out natural heat, so at each step, you want to make sure you are “ironing” your clothing pieces with your hands by smoothing out each item with your hands.
Bring the left sleeve over to about half way in and make sure to “iron” this side.
Bring over the sleeve to the left side of the sweater and align it rectangular way.
“Iron” this side of the sweater.
Bring in the right side of the sweater (same as we did with the left side) making sure to “iron” out each sides of the fold.
Bring in the top (where your tag is) and fold to the bottom (not all the way to where it touches the end) – leaving a gap. Here you also want to visualize and split your sweater into thirds.
Make sure you “iron” out this fold.
Bring the bottom third layer to the middle.
One more time, until you get here:
There you have it!
