To me, being a minimalist is not only minimizing your household goods but also having clean, healthy skin care products and minimizing the chemicals I put on my body. First off, let me just begin by saying that it doesnât matter how much organic products you put on your body, it wonât matter unless youâre also eating clean foods. My diet consists of tons of fruits and veggies, and plant-based whole foods. About 90% of the time I don’t eat processed foods in a box, can, or packaged products. The more raw foods you eat, the more invigorating your skin will look because the food is alive. It all starts from within, and the face will reflect what you put in your body.
Many skin care problems including acne problems are due to the hormones and carcinogens in meat and dairy products. Also, the lack of raw fruits and veggies in your diet will be reflected on your skin. When eating processed foods, the nutrients are highly processed out of the food, and chemicals are put back in, which results in dead food. When you put dead food in your body, youâll see dead results.
Moisture
Amongst other things, one reason why we get wrinkles is because our skin is dry. When we use a face wash that has harsh chemicals, our skin is not replenished with moisture and the result is, wrinkles. Even when we donât use harsh chemicals, the water that we use tends to dehydrate our skin. Unless youâre washing your skin with some good creek/mountain water or filtered water, the water thatâs in our homes is not the best nutrient for our skin. Thatâs why moisturizing our face on a daily basis is very important to hydrate our skin.
Handmade products
Iâve had a very difficult time to find clean, organic skin care products. I dislike all products that have ingredients where I canât pronounce or donât know what they are. I try my best to stay away from them as much as I can. Please take the time and educate yourself on the ingredients that is in your beauty products. You’ll be surprised that some of your products will include propylene glycol which is also used in cars as part of antifreeze.
Good new is I found a great company by Living Libations that uses clean and organic products. This company is based out of Ontario, Canada and all of their products are handmade.
Light and smooth
Iâve used (and currently use) their RoseGlow Face Crème and I absolutely love it! It is very light and goes on very smooth. A little goes a long way, so this little bottle will last forever! It does exactly what I need it to do â hydrate and replenish my skin with organic nutrients. There are absolutely no chemicals that go into this product and itâs amazing to see live ingredients with an abundance of nutrients that go into this cream.
Wild crafted/organic
All Libations’ botanicals are authentic, pure and distilled only from the named plant matter. They call their essential oils Hi-Fi oils due to the distillers’ faithful and accurate adherence to the master plant. All of their Hi-Fi oils are distilled from either wild crafted or organically grown plants. Their wild crafted plant matter is collected from the plants’ natural habitat in lieu of a farm. Living Libations avoids offering botanicals from rare or threatened species of plants growing in the wild to discourage their disruption and disappearance. The companiesâ organic oils originate from plants cultivated without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides.
Vegan
Almost all Living Libations are vegan. There are a few products that include ethically harvested and produced beeswax: the lip glosses and balms, the perfume balms, Maidenfern Blushing Balm, and Jai Baby Balm. Sundew Transdermal Vitamin D Crème contains vitamin D from lanolin, which occurs naturally on the wool of woolly animals, such as sheep.

Rosewater this pure rose hydrosol is made when we distill our organic rose otto and contains micro-soluble elements of essential oils suspended is this hydrating hydrosol. It works as a lovely toner and moisturizer for all skin types, nourishing and hydrating the skin. This lovely tonic of resilient Rose petals is a fountain of dew that awakens and renews the breath of the skin. Rosewater soothes and promotes skin healing while also acting as a gentle astringent that cools and regulates all skin types.
Shea Butter made from the Shea nut tree in Africa, has been used for centuries to protect and nourish the skin. Shea butter stimulates the skin while providing deep moisturizing benefits. It smells delicious, and it is often used as a substitute for cocoa butter. Shea butter is also anti-inflammatory, and will restore a smooth healthy glow to the skin.
Aloe Vera is a rejuvenating succulent plant that grows in warmer climates. It has a sturdy leaf with a clear, gelatinous pulp on the inside. This clear pulp in the leaf is a soothing balm for the skin. Aloe is healing and rehydrating to skin, and has anti-inflammatory properties. It also stimulates new, healthy cell growth and helps repair damaged skin tissue.
Bladderwrack Seaweed Extract is a gorgeous Atlantic seaweed that is naturally mucilaginous, and both stimulating and toning to the skin. People who live in regions that ingest and moisturize with lots of seaweed have the most beautiful skin and hair! Bladderwrack feeds the skin with essential vitamins and minerals like calcium, magnesium, B vitamins, silica and antioxidants, as well.
