When we are browsing through social media feeds, we are subconsciously allowing other peoplesâ lives to tap into our joys. We constantly see the things that we are lacking in our lives, based on what other people have.
If we are at work, but some of our friends are traveling, it burns our joy instantly because we are sitting at work and not enjoying life.
We are fed with the curated lives that we see on social media. Although we donât know whatâs happening on the inside, we base our joys for the day to be ruined and crashed by what we see.
By sifting through social media mindlessly, we are attacked by someone posting a beautiful picture of their romantic date night right after we wiped our babyâs poopie bottom.
You might be single at the moment, but it completly suffocates you to see someone being in a relationship. We think to ourselves, âTheyâre not even in shape, and Iâm over here working my bootie off at the gym every day and I’m still single!â
Or it catches you blindly when someone posts a picture of their abs and their hot bod, while being a full time mother of 5, when you canât even find 5 minutes of your day for some âme timeâ while being a mother of 1.
Although everyone out there is starting a new life, or continuing on their beautiful journeys with their beautiful families your joy is being tortured because you donât have what they have.
But, when you cut that social media off, when you get rid of that social media completely⌠all of a sudden your joys are filled with the present moments that you create. You become overjoyed with the kiddos that you have, the spouse, the relationships, the career, the job that you currently have at the moment.
A new world opens up.
Your joys start appearing from little things, like walking to a park, or having a real talk with your loved ones. Your joys start to develop not from whatâs seen on a screen, but by what you embrace in the present moment.
Don’t look for someone else’s approvals on social media to satisfy the joys of your life.
Embrace the body and the image you have at the current moment. Start by developing those joys with what you are blessed with right now. The simple and meaningful life you are in the moment is the true meaning of life.
