The Myth Behind Your Credit Score

People get celebrated when they buy a brand spankin’ new car (with 0% interest) with a $600-$1,200 monthly payment on a salary of $50,000/year. The nation celebrates when people get into massive amounts of student load debt because their career is going to be spectacular and it’s all worth it. You celebrate yourself by maxing out your credit cards to fulfill your desires and end up with a pile of debt.

Raising your credit score is a complete myth.

You don’t need a credit card, or a credit score to buy a house. There’s a manual underwriting process that banks will go through for people without a credit score to get a mortgage. So, why do you need a credit score then?

Has that credit score given you massive success? You put your credit score on a pedestal but its failed to reward you with anything.

Starting a new business can happen without debt as well. You start off small, little by little you raise some cash and invest it back into your business to grow it. It’s that simple.

You don’t need debt to live a beautiful life.

The problem is, we live in a world of: “If I want it, I will buy it.”

It’s all about convenience, it’s all about the fast paced environment. We teach ourselves that if it’s sold to us, then I should buy it. So instead of chopping up some pineapple we buy precut pineapple for 3 times the cost.

We buy a bunch of stuff that we don’t need, and then store them in our deep dark closets.

I haven’t had any credit cards for over 3 years, I paid them all off with the help of Dave Ramsey’s plan. I had thousands of dollars in debt, and to top it off we planned a debt free wedding. It was the mentally shift of: “is it a need, or a want?”  

Yes, we have a mortgage loan, but we’re on a fast plan to pay it off so we don’t drag it out for 30 years.

It is completely possible for you to get out of debt, chop up the credit cards, and start living a life without the weight on your shoulders and the constant stress of paying bills.

Don’t celebrate your credit score, you can be financially free without it. When you do become debt free you’ll have the capacity to bless so many people on this earth. You’ll be able to open orphanages, build houses and give them away, buy cars and give them away to the needy, put kids through schools, help the single parent households and help families that went through traumatic events. That’s the greatest joy.
