It’s almost an identical relationship between social media and boredom. Let’s just take a look at the last few times you caught yourself being bored.
Eating dinner, walking your dog, driving around (hopefully you’re on the passenger side), at work, hanging out with your family and friends, shopping, running errands, at church, or getting a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop.
We become bored at different spurs of the moment. You’re physically present, but you’re bored with your current task so you’re constantly looking for a mental distraction. Sure, you care for your interactions with the people you’re with, but you’re bored in the moment and need a quick fix.
Our brains can’t slow down because at any given moment where we slow down, we become BORED.
Even Kanye West mentions that social media is the modern-day cigarettes.
But imagine what we can possibly do with all our boredom moments combined together? Imagine how our lives can change with each time we divereted our boredom moments to creating something exciting for our lives and for others.
So… are you compelled to remove social media out of your life for good? Take a stand and release your boredom into a space of a productive state of mind. Because you are creative. You are worthy of innovating and becoming the best version of you today.
