Tim grew up in Russia during communism times where life was tough. You had to go outside of the city to see who had the butter, the chicken, and your basic and trade what you had.
Tim came to United States at 13 years old and he found himself all too excited in the land of opportunities! Tim thought he could only be street smart and not book smart so he ended up dropping out of high school and selling drugs. That way of living got him locked up in jail where he realized that he’s putting his energy in the wrong things.
He decided to change his way of life and became self taught in entrepreneurship. His journey is completely filled with successes and in this episode he gives us so much insight that any immigrant can apply to his/her life to attain success.
Quotes by Timothy
There’s never a perfect moment.
95% of our business did, and still does come from Instagram.
I would literally stop and say, “This thing that I just learned, while it’s fresh on my mind, how can I apply that to my business?” because that’s the whole point of reading this book.
If I read a book, I can not, not apply it to the business.
You can’t implement these big ideas that you read in a book overnight. But without planting the seed they’ll never even start to happen.
I have to read 10 pages of a book every morning.
The customer is why we’re here.
It does not matter what you look like, where you came from, what you sound like, no one cares about that.
I live by my calendar.
My day starts the night before.
When you start saying a lot more “NOs” you’re starting to reach a new level of success that you’ll appreciate.
You have to do a little bit of a lot these days in order to get to where you want to go.
The ability to make a decision whenever you want, however you want, and put that on paper and immediately put that to plan, and if you’re good enough and if you’re willing to take some punches, you’re guaranteed success.
You really need to do your research and have the ability to make a $1 work like $2.
Consistency.
A lot of people, family included, will tell you things that you might not want to hear.
Keep your head down and just grind away.
