I realized that the need for buying clothes is a myth. It doesn’t exist. We make it up ourselves and we make a decision to make it a need.
I realized that nobody cares what you wear to work, parties, or outings.
No one noticed that I didn’t go shopping.
No one will ever notice that you have a new shirt on.
You can mix and match, layer it up and no one will ever know you haven’t gone shopping for a while.
No one cares what you wear.
Clothing is not my confidence.
The clothes I wear don’t define who I am. They are materials to cover my body.
What defines me are my values and my desires to improve on my body, health and mind. The value that I have grown up with and the ones I reach is what I live for – not clothes.
By shopping only one time in an entire year I realized that all the times I NEEDED to buy new clothes was a big fat lie… but can you go longer than that?
What was the last piece of clothing that you purchased? Could it have been avoided or delayed? Was it truly a need or a want?
You will have lots of distractions throughout the day (social media, magazines, or even the people we’re surrounded by) that will pry into our souls to purchase something enticing.
