We are tired. Yes, we come home every single day from work and we are exhausted. Mentally, physically and emotionally drained. It doesn’t matter if the work was done in the office, sitting all day under the cool AC or if it was outside in the scorching heat. I understand, we need rest, we’re tired.
So we train our bodies to sit behind a screen every single night, because we need to recharge our batteries for the next day.
We are training our bodies to relax more and more than ever before.
We come to work and say, “I can’t wait for the weekend, so I can relax.” When we come to work after the weekend, we say “The weekend was too short, I didn’t get to relax enough.” This cycles becomes a habit and we’re in a complete gaze.
We are being hypnotized to embrace our minds and bodies to do absolutely nothing. But it feels good. We wake up the next morning and we’re refreshed.
I understand our bodies need physical therapy, exercising, healing, relaxing but what we’re doing to our bodies right now is none of that. It is a road to laziness that detours our hope, dreams and aspirations we’ve ever had. So when the healing, recovery, relaxing (whatever you want to call it) becomes a daily ritual, that is not a part of healing anymore (unless you work in hard labor – of course!).
Laziness endures our bodies, takes over our minds and we, as a nation, become a total slob.
Laziness is a disease but there is a cure! Get focused. Get moving right when you come home. Write down goals. Stick to the plan. Don’t even bother sitting on the couch because the disease of laziness will hit you hard and suffocate you for the rest of the night. Get educated, and start living your ultimate best.
