This happens with every remodel project that we pick up around the house. This also happens when you know you’re about to launch a great product into the world. It happens when you’re getting ready to graduate in your senior year of college. It happens when it’s time to wrap up the year and we somehow get extremely lazy.
It all comes down to seeing success around the corner but instead of celebrating and keeping your foot on the gas, you slow down. Senioritis kicks in. It is a REAL thing.
It’s as if we want our engines to slow down, or pretend we’re out of fuel. It’s as if we don’t care if the stoplight turns yellow on us, we weren’t going to gas it anyway!
Momentum slows down, motivation dims and the energy fades away. Deep down on the inside we realize that if we keep on going, just a little further destiny awaits our arrival.
I haven’t yet discovered why we operate that way.
All I know is that if I stay still and remain in my unmotivated mind, I know that I will end up here years later regretting to pass the finish line.
